DCT and overall reliability?

One of my old (circa 2001) Honda ranchers is giving out. The seal where the shifter meets the crankcase is loose and it started to leak. I've got 3 of them, another 90s machine and one from 2006. it's got me thinking about buying another machine. Usually I'd buy used, but the prices have been silly and I'm really liking the thought of independent rear suspension, I ride a lot of rough, and I mean rough, ground and hills and sidehills. I was looking at a Rincon before but they weren't available and I lost interest due to the transmission reliability issues I'd read about.

Now I'm reading the rubicon has some of the same issues. Have these been solved by now? I'm not the only one that uses this machine, it will be on a ranch and beat on so reliability and durability is important. Our margins aren't very big so I gotta get a good value, but my back get's pretty sore on the older machines too.

I can go with a foot shift machine, but there's a number of ways they don't work as well, like trying to get through deep snow or up hills, shifting can slow you down and get you stuck.

If you have employees or farm hands using the atv I would go with a foot shift rubicon.

I was thinking about the rubicon, then I'm reading they get punctured boots when you're in the timber. I have to go through the timber quite a bit, not sure if this is a major concern or not. Maybe it's worth it anyway.
Any machine can end up with a punctured boot, though I’ve never had one. If something gets jammed up under there, I pull it out.

My Rincon has been 100% reliable. It is an automotive type 3 speed with a torque converter. Biggest drawback imho is no low range. It’s suspension is imho it’s greatest strength. It can glide over rough stuff, yet isn’t overly wallowy. Sometimes if I ride the same route on my SRA Foreman, I find myself going quite a bit slower.

I would go rubicon, you'll never go back to a SRA again.

Just bought brand new machine yesterday and had issues right of the hop. Dealer is great and looking after me. But they do have flaws.
If try to shift on any type of hill at a stop. shift into reverse it clicks with no change. and same when try put back in gear. Once figure out issue post reply if anyone has future problems.
