I am going to set up an ATV ride in Northern Colorado to benefit the Wounded Warrior Foundation. I assisted setting up a motorcycle poker run a few years back and am thinking of doing a similar thing with this. Location is undetermined as I am just brainstorming the idea at this point. Does anyone have ideas that would make this event cool/successful? Any advice would be very beneficial.

I don't have any ideas right now but I think its a really cool idea to do something like this. I don't really know were up north in colorado to ride but if you figure it out my daughter and I would love to do a ride like this. When I rode harleys I did quite a few benefit rides and the thought of doin it on an atv sounds like a blast.

Around here they have a few benefit rides (poker runs) on back roads and peoples places along the way (mud in the ditches for some and other things to keep it entertaining, maybe a path through a tree groove or something simple). The local law is alright with it since they are staying off the main roads. We have no riding areas in our area so they do what they can.

I considered somewhere around Moody Hill, Crystal Mountain area. I don't know if there are permits required or not to do an organized event.
Since the ride will be on trails most likely I would call the ranger district office for the area you choose and see what they say about permits or anything like that . The rangers districts that I have called here in Colorado are probably one of the nicest government agencys you will deal with so they may be willing to help out. .
