everyone that has one will say the are one of the best mods for the money. what the kit does is replace centrifugal(sp) clutch springs out for stiffer one so that the motor engages the clutch at a high rpm which gives you more torgue. so i think for $100 if is a good mod.
would it help out even with stock tires?
it will help spin any tire better.
2nd gear is to high for mud, especially with 27" tires. Forget about the clutch kit with a 2x4.
Says who????? I have the exact bike as this guy (05' 2x4 on 26"s) and I use 2nd gear for eveeything. Deep water I use first but I almost never have issues with 2nd gear ion the mud.

"lenoxcrew"....I will be buying 27"s here in a few weeks for mine and a clutch kit will be my only modification. From what I've heard and seen, it's a whole new bike.
yea but he has executioners and they are heavier than your tires i know that the foremans have a very high second gear and they do bog down and loose momentum in the mud i have a cluch kit in mine and it works great but i still stay in first when going through the holes.

If you use 2nd for everything than why on earth do you need a clutch kit? Makes no sense. Reason I put a clutch kit in was because w/ my 28 Bugs it took a lot of throttle to get tires spinning in peanut butter......WITH FIRST GEAR.
I will be putting a clutch kit on my 95 honda Fourtrax this next week. I'll let you know how much of a difference it makes for my little 300.
makes a huge difference.
I'm buying mine this weekk hopefully now that my motor and rear end are back together.
I just put a clutch kit in my 500 foreman friday, and havnt yet tried it out in the mud, but its the best mod for the money (IMO). Before the kit, my fourwheeler wouldnt pull the tires up in any gear, now it will from a dead stand still in the first 2, and rolling in third. It also shifts 100% better, and dosnt chirp the rear tires when downshifting on pavement. I would recommend it to anyone, for any fourwheeler, no matter what riding you do.
Not trying to take over this post, but does the clutch kit give your more speed coming out of the hole? I am 99% sure you don't get any more top end. Is this mainly a mod for just mudding or will it help with anything? THANKS!
all it does is get you higher in to the powerband giving you more low end torque and i does NOT effect your top end
definatly a must for all foremans, but you do need some hands on experience to install
^^^ How you like the big bore kit in that beast?
so far, so good , it has much more low end torque and with the clutch kit, exhaust, and jet kit, it is really ripping now, i'm going make my first big ride since the install, today
looks great, good luck w/ first ride; get some vid of that thing slinging some sh#!
