putting a clutch kit on the rancher should help turn those bugs. i have a 05 rancher 350s with 26" 598s with snorkel and uni filter and turns those just fine in 1st gear puts bogs in 2nd in real mud, i just installed my clutch kit on this bike and so far it feels a little more jumper i havent tested in mud yet but will this weekend
I just installed a clutch kit on a 05 rancher s man a big different. front tires are popping off the ground in second gear. The only mod the guy had done was a K&N air filter. The four springs were hard to stretch to get in but a big difference we notice. I would recomend it. www.bertsdirtworks.com has them for $47.95 plus shipping.
well i did it, just installed epi clutch springs today. boy quite the pull to install springs, but all went well. only drove in back ally seems to be different. will know in a few weeks, still have snow, but it is melting.
Hey, what tool did you use to pull the springs? We are going to be doing this, this weekend, and will need allthe tips we can get!
I removed front cover and left clutch in unit. Remove e-clips and plates, then the clutch springs. I used bent needle nose plyers to remove. To install new springs slide each clutch off and install spring to clutch then install. I then used a lot of patients. I used a heater hose removel tool or cotter pin remover tool, a thin punch may work also. Hook it through end of spring and into hole where it hooks into. When the spring is stretched in to place, use bent needle nose plyers to push into hole. Install plates and e-clips. Will have to use c-clamp to compress plates to put e-clips on. Clean old sealant off with razor blade and brake clean. I used three bond 1104 to seal case. The work is worth it.
