What is the proper way to adjust the clutch on a foreman 500

Loosen the lock nut. Using a flat blade screwdriver turn adjustment bolt counterclockwise until resitance is felt, then turn it back clockwise 1/4 turn. Tighten the lock nut, making sure the adjustment screw doesn't spin. You may have to hold the screw while tightening nut to keep it from moving.

It won't matter if your in nuetral or in gear. All the shift mechanism parts will be in the same postion when at rest whether your in reverse, nuetral or in any of the 5 gears.
