Choke Knob?

4634 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  PuckVader
The choke button/knob on my 04 400AT will not stay in the choke position. It wants to slide back down? So I have to hold it out during warm up.
Is there a way to tighten up the cable or whatever holds it in place??

Under the rubber boot just below the button is a pinch nut ..just tighten it a little with your fingers...
No, not really. It's designed so that if you forget to turn it off it slips backinto place by itself. I have to hold the choke on my Rancher 350 when I'm warming up.
I could be wrong though, thats been known to happen.

Thank You Very Much!!! That was an easy fix I would have never guess'd!
My Foreman with 10 hours on it was doing the same thing.

Fixed mine.
Every Honda with the pull choke has the jam nut under the rubber boot to hold out the choke ..

Thanks so much, spent an hour reading my manual and trying to trace out the cable and looking online for an answer to this........you made my day, thanks !
