changed bearings and still making noise...

1999 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  cra5h
i changed the bearings and everything was tight...rode it last night and heard the popping noise again... on the right side, there is a little movement, and i found out that the top a arm moves a little side to side when you move the tire.

would that cause the popping noise? a bad bushing ?

or maybe it is in the diff?

if the a-arm is the only thing moving then i would check the bushings. ride it slow through the yard and hang over the front and see what is making the noise, or to make it easyer on you maby just jack the front up and lisen to it.

i whould say your arm bushing are out. cuz are old rubicon had the same thing and we had to replace all arm bushings..
my guess would be ball joints.

i checked them and they seem alright. i guess i will have to change that bushing and ride and see if it pops again. to eliminate that part...b/c it is getting worse...

if it still pops then i will pull the axle and see if it is a joint or something.

thanks
i would i be able to check the ball joints?

just in case that is the problem?
