I have a 2006 honda foreman 500 that I broke the throttle cable and to get back home I had to pas it over the frame when I noticed it was sparking on the frame. The next day I went to tern in on and grabbed a peace of metal and touch the carb to the frame and it was sparking and all of a suddenly my atv cut off and now it won’t start with the electric start . Does any one have any guesses on what it could be

The only way the carb can get current to it is from the heater element. I gab the experience of swapping the heater element out and since there are 2 wires I was unlucky end to swap them. This resulted in a direct shirt that fed back through the throttle cable melting nylon sleeve inside the cable. I would think that the heater wires were shorted and this resulted in a blown fuse. Check wires to heater for melted insulation and replace if insulation issues are noted. Be careful when reconnecting because the you don’t want to create a direct short. Check your fuses for starting issue. Good luck.
