Carburetor Drain Tube

I was at an ATV park in Goldsboro, NC this past weekend. www.buscobeach.com This place has significant amounts of mud and water. Anyways, I went to plug my drain tube when I noticed that I didn't have one. So I cut a piece of tubing and stuck it to the bottom of my carburetor and plugged it with a screw. The motor kept dying on me automatically. I ended up removing the tubing and running without it. Any ideas as to why this happened? I figured this would be the same as plugging the factory tubing.

Actually I did it all at one time. There must be a difference. I will be ordering a new one soon.

Cool, looking forward to riding with you then. Ive been hanging around there forum for awhile now. Im joining this month if it works out for me to make it to the meetings. If not I have been invited to ride anyway untill I can make it (crazy schedule I have) to a "offical" meeting.
I'm Lee G on the TTB forum, maybe we can head out to Danbury or R&D(i've yet to try out this spot) soon. My foreman is in the shop getting a new starter and wheel bearings right now.
We were there this past weekend, we come from Lillington,NC maybe we could hook up and get a big ride together, we usually have between 5 and 15 each time we go. I have a red foreman with mods listd below. We will porbaly be down again in a week or so. Where else do you guys ride in NC we need some new places to ride. Is there any places around were you guys live to ride? We will probaly be going to Uwharrie this weekend or next weekend, whatever week it is they open

Hey,

Im not exactly sure where your town is located but if its anywhere close to the greensboro/winston/highpoint area you should think about hooking up with the TTB's club.

Theres alot of "club only" land that club members have the riding rights to. Even a few "shut down" ATV parks. That were shut down years ago and with the owners permission club members can still ride.

Theres a few places in the western part of the state also. Many load up and head to West Virginia a few times a month and ride alot up there also.

Both of yall have the HMF.. do yall run a quiet core?

maby ill get a chance to hear your bikes. I really want one and probably will get one eventually but Id really like to hear it on the same atv before I get it. Just to know exactly how loud it will be. I dont mind loud but it might get annoying around the house and hunting etc.. Yall runa quiet core?
i just had mine installed and it is significantly louder..if it wasn't on my foreman and i was rideing behind it..i would be annoied..but since it's on mine i give it ****..i will be ordering the quite core..the videos on the web don't do it justice..but the gains in the power department make up for the noise..we're going rideing fri..i will post some video's and sound clips of the HMF in action..
I have the quite core, but the only time I used it was when I was working on my yard.

As far as riding around in our area I would have to say Uwharrie is the closest. I think it opens April 1st. I know a huge Suzuki fest is real soon out there. Sidekicks and Samurai's are everywhere from what I'm told. http://www.zuwharrie.com/

We go to WV quite a bit. I would like to check out Brown Mountain sometime soon. We liked Busco Beach alot, that place rocked!

is it alot better with the QC around the house? Or is it still borderline?

Brown mountain looks like a nice place. All the trails are directional so you dont have crazy fools driving at you going 60 not paying attention on the trails so thats a good thing I think.
Ive never been to busco. Looks like a lot of mud and water
It is better, but then again I'm mainly in 2nd gear the whole time. It still has a nice rumble even with the quite core. Since I don't do any hunting and can't ride around my development, if I had to make the choice again I probably wouldn't have bought it. When you decide to buy a pipe get it without the QC and if you find it too loud you can order you one.

My buddy just recently had Honda of Winston Salem install a HMF Utility on his 500. We went riding in Danbury and I noticed his was alot louder than mine. I checked his pipe and it didn't have a spark arrestor at all. Now that's a little loud.
