Spring Mod, removing resonator bottle??"S

I just put a K&N filter and a HMF utility pipe on my Foreman 500. If I cut the spring and remove the resonator bottle, do I go ahead and change the jet and replace it with the jet HMF supplied or do I just run the stock jet?

wow, what a long thread. sounds like a great, quick mod. as usual a newbee has a few questions. i put the hmf pipe, filter, and 165 jet in. the clip is on the 3rd notch and the bike seems to be running great now.
here is my questions,.. do i cut the dyno jet spring ? if i do, when i'm in the mud when the bike is starting to strain, will this mod dump to much fuel in the carb and make the bike start spitting and popping? or is just a "off idle mod"
and how and the **** are ya'll riding wheelies with your bikes. i cant get the front wheels off the groung unless i come out of a hole under full throttle.
i have a 2006 500 4*4 cant get it to do a wheelie to save my life
do not cut spring that comes with kit.
the spring that comes with the kit is already half as short as the stock one...like eric said do not cut the dj spring..
The HMF pipe only came with a jet and no spring. So do I need to replace the stock jet with the one HMF supplied if and cut the stock spring? OR do i just cut the stock spring and leave the stock jet?
The pipe and the jet work best when used together...I put the jet and the pipe on AND cut the spring for the best results...I then later bought the DynoJet kit and replaced the main jet, needle, and spring for the optimum performance..
Thanks for the reply and helpful info.

thanks for the replies... but how and the **** are ya'll doing wheelies ????
Lean back and hit the gas.... Works for us.. Keep in mind, a small bump in the road, while in water, or going up hill will help a bunch...Knowing where to try one is a benefit... Good luck...
slidell what kinda foreman es or S, if S you can lift the shifter up and run up the revs and drop it and she'll pop right up, possibly on its butt, or you can stand on your back rack, or stand up lean forward adn throw ally our weight back while gunning it in 2nd
wheelies

yeah i cant do wheelies at all... the only way i can get it like that is to hit a hill in 2nd and hope i am not going too fast

here in south louisiana we have whats called levees to hold the water back, they make great ramps!!

DUDE, I CANT DO THAT I'M 190LBS AND I'VE TRIED TO GO INTO WATER THAT DEEP AND MY BIKE DIES OUT BEFORE I CAN EVEN ATTEMPT TO DO A WATER WHEELIE. I'VE TRIED TO THROW MY WEIGHT BACK AND THE WHEELS COME OFF THE GROUND ABOUT 1''. I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO GO THROUGH WATER THAT DEEP AND DO A WATER WHEELIE THROUGH IT. DONT KNOW WHATS UP WITH MY BIKE, IT MAY BE JUST THE RIDER
Slidell....Just get off of your wallet...take $30 out and go to Home Depot...

Pick up :

2 Black tubes of RTV ( $5.00)
1 Wet Vac Accessory pack ( $22.00 )
1 PVC 90 degree elbow ( .99 )

Go home and SNORKLE YOUR BIKE... That and some windshield hose tubing and run your carb, differential, and fan hoses up. Then you will go handle bar deep. If that don't get your front end to float, you need to remove the cinder blocks from your front rack... Ha Ha Ha.. Cheap, well worth it, and also saftey for your bike !!!!!!

In the accessory package comes with the extention ( you use for the stack ) 10 foot of 2 inch hose ( fits perfectly into the air box ) and your done. You can not mess it up. So simple....

OK, THATS IT !!! GOING TODAY AT LUNCH TO HOME DEPOT OR LOWES.

WHAT IS THIS "FAN HOSE" YOUR TALKING ABOUT ???
After you finish the snorkle...find the 2 carb hoses...the ones that just turn down and don't go anywhere.. Run these under the headlight pod. Then find the front and rear differential hoses. Run these up as well. Then find the hose that comes off of the electric fan..run this up high as well. This way, no water can come back thru the hoses and pool and start to rust.. I am going to send you a PM... I will call you this evening..
did you get all that worked out?

hey rin, i am going to tackle mine tomorrow morning...i got some fittings and stuff and i am ready to go...mine will be completly custom from end to end...no doubt about that...

i just have to go get some hose for the vents...

thanks for all your help guys and

GOOD LUCK SLIDELL, PM me if ya need something...
