WAY BETTER RESPONSE just did mine ,it was hard for me to do because its bran new but what the heck ,ITS ALL GOOD! ,LETS GET SOME MORE TIPS GOING ON!

Check out the time differance between posts thats how long I have been riding and bumps hills logs hitting trees and sudden stops didnt change the way it ran ,It was great!! but I may have to set the choke up again .Cold starts run ruff and I have to watch the choke setting closer on warm up but what ever the throttel response is great
ok i understand how clipping the spring will give you better throttle response. but tell me about the 'resonator bottle'? is this what the book calls "resonator duct? what is its purpose and how does removing it increase performance? also, seems a lot of people are using a 170 main jet. what comes factory in 06 foreman?

This is how it works #14 is the spring to cut ,by cutting it makes it weeker and takes less vacume to pull the diaphram up#22,the needle is conected to the diaphram and slides in and out of the main jet,by cutting the spring the carb dumps fuel in faster,this is how you get quicker response

i cut it on my 450 and it gets great throttle response. everything is so far so great

If you take your seat off you will see your carburator. Take the top off of the
carb. Should be 4 little screws. Be careful not to strip them out. Once the
top of the carb is off, you will see the coil spring. Take it out & cut about a
inch & a half off. Put it back together & you should be good to go. Some cut
about 2 inches off. You may want to start with 1.5 inches. You can always
cut more off if needed. Good luck.

I was the same way. Just do it & get it over with. You'll be glad you did it.
Ok, I did it. Wasn't too bad. Have not tried it out as of yet, but will give it a try out within the next week. We shall see if it helps, but had no problem before actually with stock throttle. Hope I don't regret it. If so, will order a new spring. Thanks for the help. Lots of rain and storms lately and to wet here to ride at home and since Hurricane Rita, yard is still pretty tore up. We got a direct hit here with Rita and still a mess. Trees fallen everywhere and had to bring in more fill dirt after cutting trees and don't want to tear up yard any more than it is. Trying to get back to pre hurricane status before another hits. Thanks for the help.
I cut 13 loops out of the spring which is about 2" worth. I tried it today riding up and down the street a few times. Don't know just what I expected, but can't really see a difference. Feels about the same to me from stop to start, excel performance, or anything else. Did not appear to hurt anything, but can't say I can see anything on the plus side either. Will try more in the field next time I travel to East Texas for some trail riding on my deer lease.
