I dont see why it wouldn't work, but I dont know what the difference in vacuum is between the two bikes. one may be more than the other. let us know how it does if you try it.
well you can always buy another slide .lol
finally did it and seems to have worked great i can nail the gas and it will lift the 28s up about 6" on itss own in first
What exactlly is the slide? Ive also heard that clippng the spring by about 6-8 coils will help gain better throttle responce. Do you know if these two mods will work good together?
yep i have both done the slide is in your carb it opens and allows air and fuel to flow through the mods allow the vacume to draw the slide up faster and so increasing throttel responce
I did it to mine also, I am not sure if there is any change. Feels like a little improvement but not really sure. I know it didn't make any worse. Simple mod, might as well do it.
I have an Idea of what the slide is but what exactlly needs to be drilled out?
ok well take your slide out of the carb take it apart meaning remove the nedel and the plastic peiece that holds it down be careful wiht hte little spacer washers on the nedel dont loose them and put them in the same spot hwne reassembeling there will be 2 holes on the bottom of your slide the one the nedel goes through and antoehr one drill out the other do NOT drill the hole for your nedel any more questions feel free to ask
Thanks for your help, I can definitally tell a difference now I can lift my heavy 26" 589s about 6 inches off the ground on a paved surface.

hey guys what size of hole are you drilling? thnks
G according to the HL post they are using a 1/8" drill bit.
Welcome to the site, George. " title="Applause" />
yep 1/8
I am trying to make sense of what yall are doing but cant make my mind understand. Are yall drilling a hole in the black diphram piston on that top of the carb? On my 00 foreman the needle comes through the bottom of it and I believe there are 2 holes, one on each side. I guess it does, but how does drilling a hole improve a vaccum pressure? Can anyone take a picture of what they drilled?

If I could figure it out I think I will do it to help get my 27' vamps goin in addition to my new borejob and piston.
Anyone try this on a 500? same results?
