I've been looking at C.V. boot guards but I don't like how the u-bolts hang down when they're installed. Is there a different way to install them so the bolts don't hang down.

on mine once I installed the u-bolts, I cut the excess stud off to keep them from snagging on anything.
Yeah,I thought of that but was hoping someone figured out a way to have the u-bolt part on the bottom.Have you ever had a problem with just the nut left on the bottom?
There is a company that makes them where the bolt heads are not as exposed. They recess where the bolt heads are where they don't hang down.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think it was Aluminum Products (AP). Someone correct me if I am wrong.

check out the Ricochet products.........
what about useing carriage bolts and then a strap of metal over the A-arm thats what im thinking of doing when i make my guards

I have Aluminum Products full skids on my Brute Force. They use button head allen bolts that are recessed into small "dimples" to keep the exposure to a minimum. Nice product. They sell the A-arms seperately or as part of the full kit. Highly recommend them.
I too have AP skids but looking into both of these products I will be getting Ricochet; better coverage. Don't get me wrong, I like the quality and fit/finish of my AP but I am dissappointed with the coverage.
like justin said you could use carrage bolts with metal that straps over the a-arms or what people do around here, just flip the u-bolt and make the bolts stick up so you could strap the metal down.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I'll just turn the ubolt upside down and use a strap on top of the A-arm.
