Got new aluminum wheels and tires for christmas and was mounting them
tonight i was told to torque them at 100 foot pounds by a local atv dealer
and broke a stud. Defective stud or to tight, all the other ones held up fine.
any suggestions.
and if you happen to have a 500 foreman you cant buy just the stud you have to buy the whole hub assembly....$33-rear,$38- front(and specify which side because it does make a difference)
I called my honda dealer this morning and he told me the good news about having to buy the hub and not just the stud. Im from Canada and
its $98. anyone know about aftermarket studs that might be stronger.
Stock is only 57lbs. I would think that you would not have to go much more then that, but you would have to retighten them a couple times. After that you should be ok, but what do I know.
