Brake pads

Has anyone bought them??

I bought a set and this is what I was shipped. I called them this AM and they said all Honda ATV discs used the same pad part number. You can see by the pic the these will not work.

I have looked on a few other websites and they use the same P/n for the EBC brakes. So something is out of wack.

I emailed this pic to the company I bought them from. They are going to call me back in the morning.

I'll let you know.

As an update:

I just got off the phone w/ the local dealer (House of Pain). They said they had replacement pads in stock. This is the first time I have gone in there and they had anything I wanted in stock, aside from oil.

So my next question is what is the P/N are they OE or aftermarket. He said they are EBC SV and the same P/N I had already purchased.

He said to bring the original pad in and they will match it up to something. So I guess I'll try that tomorrow if I do no thear anything encouraging from the place I ordered them.
I pulled up EBC's PDF files and they list the same P/n as evreywhere else????

What is going on?
I bet that they used the ones for the rubicon. My guess would be that they changed them for the 500's but some companies thought that they were the same. Just a guess I don't know, good luck on finding new ones, let us know what you find out.
hmm, thats interesting, did you get the new pads from the dealership then?
The dealership only stocks the same EBC pads. I have a bout 5 emails out to various companies trying to get a solution.
I went by the dealership and they were zero help, Unless I wanted to order OE pads from them for $50 a side. Even though Service Honda has then for under $35.

But when I got home I had this email from EBC.:

Michael,

Sorry!
We DO have a incorrect listing of our EBC FA84SV for this Honda 2005 TRX 500 and the correct pad number is a new pad for EBC that will not be avalable until November or December !

The new EBC bakes pad part number is FA410R / FA410SV !

Feel free to return the incorrect EBC FA84SV Brake pad's, ( IF you can not use them on another ATV model ) buy a set of Honda OEM pad's for now, and then contact me around Thanksgiving with you UPS address, and i will ship you a set of our EBC FA410R's at NO CHARGE for you to try !

That is customer service!

Well it took a while and a couple emails but the pads arrived today! Two sets for each front caliper.

SWEET!
nice work on receiving the goods in style.
I had kind of the same problem with my Honda dealer back last February when I was getting a oil filter for the New 05 Foreman 500, They looked it up and gave me the oil filter for the 05 Rubicon and said it was the right one, and then I told them it was for a new 500 Foreman they said that it was the right one. Make a long story short it was the wrong one, the 05 Foreman 500 uses the same filter as the 450R or something and when they looked the part# up again for the Foreman oil filter it came back as the one for the Rubicon, (which WILL NOT work). They have since then made the right correction in there computers.
