boot

I noticed yesterday, a boot on the front drive shaft was damaged and loose. It is the boot closest to the engine. Does anyone know exactly what this is called and how much of a pain is it to change or is it even necessary to change.

Called "propeller Boot B". Part #40420 hm7-a00. I'd replace it crap will get in and wear the shaft splines. I've already had to replace one on my 400.
Just remove the front diff mount bolts to allow you to slide it ahead and the propeller shaft will pull right out. Good Luck
