Best contactor location for warn 2.5?

i put mine in the rear compartment. i mounted mine to the left side and ran the wires through the from right above the battery. make sure to wrap them tight with tape to prevent the plastic from shorting the wires. also fill holes with plent of atv silicone.

I know that you have a Foreman..but the Rincon has a great front compartment. I sealled the holes and wires. Worked great...

my foreman has a small compartment on the left front fender, but i use it too much to put the contactor in there. i think i am going to put it in the rear box. would it matter if the wires were ran down the right or left side? is one side less cluttered than the other? thanks for the help

What ever is easiest for you... Just make a dry run with your wires first before you go cutting things. Make sure that when you turn the bars that the wires don't pull or get pinched... Alot of Foreman riders are putting the contractor under the seat. Someone will pop up that has a Foreman and help you better...

Mine is under the seat and u-bolted to the bar over the battery. I have not had a problem with it. Just run the wires to the winch along the frame in cunjunction w/ the main harness.

do you have any pics of it under the seat? that was my original plan, but i couldnt find a good place to mount it.

Mine is mounted to my rear storage compartment just up under the right rear fender. Thats where my dealer put it and it seems like quite a decent spot.

i got mine in on saturday. i put it under the seat and u bolted it to the bar across the battery. its perfect there. the wires a way to long though and ill probably end up shortening them, but for now its a great place. ill get some pics up soon...

I'd like to see some pictures of a contactor mounted under the seat.I think there isn't enough room for mine there.

I am mounting my winch up also, I put my next to the rear storage box just to the left would have put in side the box, but the wires were three inches to short for this. might have to look at the battery compartment.

can someone tell me which wire is best to use for the hot wire, I do not have a wiring diagram for my atv yet? and where did you contect to it at?

I used the strap that is already in the "trunk" to mount it. I drilled a hole in the side, ran the wires through and siliconed the hole shut. Works great so far and I have ran through creeks, mud bogged, and power washed it. It was bone dry when I was done.

sorry it took me so long you can tell from the pic the wires are way too long...thats why they are all wound up. when i have time ill go back and shorten them all. the two nuts are the end of a ubolt that goes around the bar above the battery. its a perfect fit. i was at the honda dealership today and noticed they screwed the contactor to the OUTSIDE of the rear storage compartment under the rear fender thats probably the last place id put it.

I relocated my fuse box in the battery compartment and located the contactor there. Stays dry, and easy to get to...plus is a little quieter than out in the open, with the seat absorbing some of the sound. THey are noisy little buggers.
