i believe that you can use the front skid plate without the bottom skid plate but you cant use the bottom skid plate with the stock bash plate because the connect together.

can i use the bash plate/hook holster by itself or do i have to have the belly skid too

You can use both indipendantly. They only share two bolts (where the stock basl plate attatches to the frame on the bottom) The bell skid comes with the spacers (two 1/8" washers) to make it fit right if you are not using the AP bash plate.
after the big smack i layed on my bike today i think i'm gonna order the belly skid...sorta scared myself
just wondering also will a venom winch mount to this mount plate
