Not really in a big hurry or rush just getting a few ideas together. Me and a few buddies are thinking of taking a little trip up north into the Hills/Mountains. Of course we arent looking to drive to maine or utah (although id love to ride paiute). Anyone able to post a link of a nice place in the Arkansas/south missouri/Tenneesee area? Like I said we are just talking about it and trying to get an idea of where to go to start saving $ up and get our bikes in peak shape first (i broke an axle saturday). The ONLY catch is none of us are really willing/looking forward to wearing a helment so the hatfield/mccoy trails wouldnt workout + a bit too far.

Any suggestions welcome guys,

Alright, Coxhm, just go buy a cheap HJC helmet, and go to the good places. Refusing to wear a helmet is no excuse to miss out on awesome riding areas, they aren't that big of a deal to wear. Now, I've heard that RideRoyalBlue.com ATV Guest Resort and Campground - Home is a good place to ride. My buddy saw it on Fishers ATV world, and kept trying to get me to go there, too far for me to drive. And a few guys I work with have gone to this place, Brimstone Recreation - ATV Park in TN - Plan Your Adventure , and they are trying to get me to go this summer. They said it is "awesome", but we'll see.

thanks scott & gill. The helment part I guess we could work on just gotta convince my fat headed friends to sweat it out in one. We'll definatly be checking all these spots out on the web. Only place Ive heard of before is the Mena Ark area at wolfpen gap. We've talked about it and would love to go somewhere to ride and camp on the trail for a few days. Thanks guys it might be this summer before we make it but we'll eventually be goin

You're not likely to find a place that is open to the public that you don't have to wear a helmet. But i'd say ride royal blue or Coal Creek OHV park.. either of those would be great..

for the helmet part just head to wal-mart and grab a couple of skate board helmets. we did that last year before busco beach and it worked fine! less than $20 in them!

Hit wydglide up, ride royal blue is his backyard and its also attached to a national forest that you can ride at too. Or its the other way around. Either way the man has got the place mapped out on his gps.

Wild Willy's ATV Rezort - Home

Check this place out. Hatfield McCoy trails on Va. line. You can ride 3 of the systems from here. Willy's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Really secluded.During the week you feel like you're by yourself on the trails. He's got his own way to the trails by way of one of the outlaw trails so you're only 4000' away. You can ride down the road about 1.5 miles to a store called Jake's and he's got a little bit of everything; beer, lunchmeat, eggs, bacon, canned stuff.Walmart's only 13 miles away if you need something particular. My avatar is my wife at Willy's over summer.

Coal creek doesn't require a helmet if you are over 18

Wolfpen gap was ok. It was a lot of wide open trails, and no mud to speak of but the scenery was awesome. About 15 miles out of mena there is another trail called fourche mountain that is supposed to be really technical. I didn't get to ride it but if I go to mena again I will definately check it out. You can camp at various locations at wolfpen gap and also rent cabins. It was a relaxing way to spend a weekend.

We stayed at Ashland Resort, West Virginia: Campground, Cottages, Cabins, and ATV Rentals

Its a really nice park with access to the HMT (the new Pocahontus) and Indian trial... but we rode a little ways down the road to Crumpler (Right at the Stair steps) and stayed on the outlaw trails..There is a spot called Pinnacle Creek campground right on trails below the steps...it was all dirt road but looks like it got paved from the grounds to the stair steps, since last year after we went. We plan on staying at the Ashland resort again next trip I really liked the outlaw trails..had some pretty good mudholes since that trail followed the creek.. Googlemaps has some pretty good images of it.

I've posted this link up before, Find ATV Parks, Motorcycle Trails, and Motocross Tracks . When I was looking for other places to ride, I did a google search and this is one of the sites that popped up. Just click on any state and it will give a list of alot of different places to go. I found it to be very helpful. I'm working on trying to get a big group up to go some where in March. I'll post it on here so you guys will know and try to make it. Like Benji said, it would be nice to get to meet some of you and put a face with the name.
