It is going to be a little more involved than said. You will have to knock the outer cup off of the axle to get the new boot on. Give the axle a good tug and it will pop out of the front differential. It is held in the diff by a circular retaining clip at the end of the axle splines. Next cut your bad boot off. Once the boot is off go to a table mounted vice and put the axle shaft in it. Using a rubber mallet hit the outer cup off of the axle. A few hits should do it. The cup is held on by a star race the splines onto the shaft. It is all incased in the cup. To be safe I would clean out the old grease from the cup. Sit it outside for a day to dry and then repack it with grease. To install simply slide the new boot on first. Then put the outer cup back on (make sure the splines match up). Then hit the cup on with the mallet. Reapply the bands and your ready to install your axle. You will need bands and a banding tool also.
