Hi, I just joined so please bear with me:
I have a '99 Foreman 450 with 3K miles.
Just purchased and installed new OEM Carb, new OEM fan controller and OEM Temp Sensor from Rocky Mountain ATV.
It seems to run great until I let it idle to where the bottom of the crank case hits around 170 F.(measured with FLUKE Temp Gun), then it starts to run rough and then it stops running like someone turned off the key. It wont restart and acts like and smells like its flooded. After about 5-10 minutes it will start again and the cycle repeats itself.... Anyone else experienced this?

Charging system working normally? Regulators are common so if its.over charging or under when its warm that possibly could be the issue. Even if it's too hot to touch it's a possibility.

When it does die, pull your plug and plug it back into the wire and ground the threads on something nearby. Spin on it and see if your getting spark. Flooding smell can be caused by two things; too much fuel, or bad spark. Orange spark is weak spark, blue spark is strong spark.
