$700 Dollar Wheel and Tire Package

This question is for the married guys out there, and especially the ones with kids.

How on earth did you guys convince your wifes to pay $700 for wheels and tires for your ATV. It seems every where I look for the "Big wheel" tire packages are all about 700-800 bucks! Thats more than what I spent for tires on my truck!

Even if I want just tires, I cant seem to get what I want for less than $300

I've only been married for 3 years maybe some the veterans of marriage can chime in and let me know if I'm missing something.

I've been married for about 3 years now. You have to give her a sad story like, your embarrased to go riding with anyone because your bike looks like a weeny bike because its stock, and that you will be getting made fun of for getting stuck all of the time. Maybe she will feel sorry for you then. I just sold a few things for the extra money. Or if all else fails, just buy her something more expensive and she will be happy.

LMAO Good one

I judge it mainly on the color of her face when I ask for them. Its always either dark purple to fire engine red.

Guess I could just go out by them have them installed and she'd probably never realize, except for when the credit card bill came in
I SAVED MY CHRISTMAS MONEY AND MY BIRTHDAY MONEY
Spent so much time checking the forum for opinions and recommendations when I got mine that I guess I forgot to check with the wife. Oh well, too late to worry about it now.
Just go let the air out of them and tell her they just don't seem to hold air anymore and you can patch these kind of tires. Then when you order new ones don't tell her about the rims. Just bolt them on and go.
Worked hard and budgeted it in. This is an exspensive hobby. You have to pay to play.
Honestly, I just bought mine by hustling alittle and not going out to lunch. I make excellent money, the only problem is my wife makes even more! She would not have cared if I just bought them, but I didn't want to ask. Its my toy, therefore she can't bitch about any hobby I have if she does not pay for it. Same goes for anything she wants to do. I just tightened up on some of my mad money for a week or two and bought them. I play golf with my buddies for $ at least a couple times a week too so that helped. If I could not have done that I would have just sold some stuff I would most likely throw away anyways on EBAY! I did the same thing when I bought both of my ATV's except on a larger scale. I decided I wanted them in May, shopped around and saved abit, got a great deal and jumped on it in July. I just did the same thing on 2 jet ski's I bought,a nd when I put 20's on my truck. In a sense its just like GaRedClay said, you just plan for it and budget. My budget just happens to not be tied to our joint accounts.

My wife did make a good point when I told her how much I paid for my wheels and tires. Wheels and tires on an ATV are easily more expensive than putting tires on a car! FYI, I paid $444 off ebay for my 27" Mud Lites XL's mounted on black ITP Delta Steel Wheels... So thats what I mean about shopping around on price. Patience is a virtue, at least thats what the nuns used to say. I didn't know what that really ment at the time, I was too busy staring at the girls in the catholic schoolgirl uniforms!
After 12 years of marriage, all I can say is tell her the truth. You're tired of being stuck all the time and want to pull the other guys out for a while. If that doesnt work, then LIE and tell her you need new tires anyways And don't forget to let the air out of 2 of the stockers before you do

14 years here, fellows yall are getting off cheap. I had to get the wife a bike, tires, rims and mods to go alone with it, some of it used. I have no kids, so I guess you could say I'm still raising her.
Easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask permission..........

I heard that one before!!
All really good stuff, I think I'm going to play the getting stuck all the time and I would probably make it back home quicker if I had better tires
Married for 4 years now. I just told her the truth about why and what I wanted. She got me tires wheels and fender kit for V-day.
like my dad says go buy them then ask forgive ness... im olny 15 so i cant help u much. but that wat my dad always says...its easyer to ask for forgiveness. then for the money. lol
ive been married for 4 months, and this is my second set of tires. i just told her that i enjoy my foreman and i work everyday. as long as the bills are paid and there is food on the table i buy what i want and she buys what she wants. it works for us. but we dont have ne children so..
