Rode 5a Sunday, They are clearing the roads with Dozers & loaders ,getting ready for Hunting season...
I spoke with three of the owners of the property,They asked me if I would get with as many ATVers as I could and ask if they would PLEASE respect the hunters and let them hunt also for those who wont they have asked Brevard & Volusia county sheriffs dept & FWC to watch the entrance on both the North & south end and stop & give warning to all,, they will give a verbal warning and ask you to leave,, second offense will be a trespass warning that you must sign & third will be confiscate your Quad and & fine (per FWC officer I spoke with too) the owners will be Posting temporary signs warning of this.

All they ask is for some RESPECT & let them hunt!

After hunting season ends ( around January) it will be open & let us use it again ...

Lets not Screw this up...... No tickets , no going to jail,,Etc.

I grew up with a lot of these Scottsmore/Oak hill boys...Great Folks!.,,,But They are serious about their hunting........ Lets Letter hunt .......PLEASE!

wow, that kinda sucks, can we take a truck back there and cruise around?
Not that I was planning on riding out there any time soon, but kinda makes me wonder how the "hunters" have the rights to hunt out there when there are so many different property owners, one who I know personally that lives in Georgia and MANY others that live across the U.S.
????
So obviously, it's not an exclusive "club", just a place the hunters use like the atv riders do.
Right?
I really don't have a problem with the hunters hunting out there just like we ride out there I'll take a break and give them their time, BUT there is NO WAY the Sheriff's Dept can tresspass people from there LEGALLY without the owner of EACH property consenting. And, there are a LOT of property owners! Basically, what I'm getting at is NONE of us, unless we are property owners are LEGALLY allowed to be out there.
Again, I don't mind the hunting and will give them their space but unless THEY own the property, they aren't supposed to be their any more than WE are. Trust me, I've looked up that area and there are a LOT of owners, so I KNOW there is not a prive club that has exclusive rights.

Yes,, you are right,, somewhat,, the owners give permission to hunt their land for money ,a lease of sorts.. There will be a sign up this week in ref to motorized vehicles other than ones with authorized permission slips from land owner....if you want to ride where there are folks with high powered rifles hiding in the woods,, have at it....not the Round One!
I was told by one land owner that if we stay on the east side of the canal it wouldn't be so bad,,,,,also the land owner had a copy of a signed affidavits giving law enforcement the authority to stop anyone on "HIS" property and ask for permission slip...

Me I don't need the trouble ,, I can ride with out 5A and the law until January..i know lots of good spots to ride.

Just my two cents worth......... Y'all do what y'all wanna do.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I really don't care WHO is out there and I don't have plans to go and know they wanna have their fun too, BUT, I'm not gullible enough to believe that the hunters have exclusive rights to be out there. Only because I know there are TOO MANY different owners.
They can hunt all they want and I won't be there, just to give them their time and to be safe!
even if they are hunting....they would only be hunting from lets say very early in the morning(4-6:00 am?) till what around 10:00 am in the moring? then from what 4-5:00 pm till dark? nobody is gonna be "hunting" out there in the middle of the day so i really dont see the problem, just dont get stuck late in the afternoon and you wont have any problems
excuse my ignorance here as I have never hunted anything other then a double cheeseburger, but why do they only hunt in the am and at night??
That's when the deer will be moving....

you must of learned the ways of hunting from chief Euroboy then huh?

i think the deer have nappy time during the day..or the have hot deer sex during the day and the boy deer are all leaving to go home around dusk or first thing in the moring while the chik deer are still sleeping
Thanks Norm for the rather scientific explanation, it all makes perfect sense now.
From what I have seen the so called hunting that goes on out there is an all day thing. They run large groups of dogs out there to chase the deer to them. Then it’s like shooting ducks in a barrel. I personally don’t consider that as hunting. More of a slaughter house type of thing but that’s just me.

I think it would be a little more fair(and entertaining to watch) if the hunters strapped deer bones to their head. Then, deer and the hunters could run at each other head to head and let the best animal live....Braveheart style

I would pay to watch that.
I have to laugh! This is a topic that would have started a heated debate on any other forum and we've already got it so twisted around that we are talking about strapping antlers to our heads and stuff!!!
We have a good crew on here!!!
