4X4 Warning Light?

Hi guys, I'm new here and I have a question about an 2004, 450 Foreman that I just picked up. It has about 1000 miles on it and everything was running fine for a while, now the green light that indicates 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive is blinking and it will not go into 4 wheel drive sometimes. I don't have a manual yet and was wondering if you guys could give me some things to check? Thanks

If you ride in water I would check the plugs on the front diff where the wires plug in for the 4wd system. You might need to dielectric grease them. Just a thought, I would think that it would have to be something with those magnets of whatever they are in the front.
I have been riding in the water a lot lately, I'll check it out. Thanks
check how many times it is blinking and call the dealer and ask them what the code means....mine does it periodically and it is the speed sensor..if it happens while you are riding it just shut the bike off and restart it it will clear itself and it should work...mine was blinking 4 times if that helps...
it mainly happens when switching from 4wd to 2wd. if you switch it while you are sitting still it does fine, but when your moving is when it starts blinking. but all you have to do is shut the bike off then crank it back up and it does fine.
Thanks Honda Mechanic, I'm getting 4 blinks. My Clymer's manual is ordered. I'll check out the charging system.
i told ya wrong mine was flashing the 3 times...meter speed sensor
What is the "FCC System"?
FCC is final clutch control unit .. It controls the selectable 2wd/4wd ..

Here is the PDF section from my 1998-04 TRX450 manual ..

welcome to the forum !!!
1st thing i would do is check all the fuses and conections at the battery
2nd thing i would do is charge the battery up and with it running use a volt meter and see what it says for voltage ....if it slowly goes down then we will help you further (im not too good with the charging system on the rancher 400 )
pm me if you need a manual ....i can send you one
