Your better off doing a HL BBK or Thumper BBK. Thumper is 475cc, same as the 500. I think the HL is also 475. If done right it's just as reliable as a stock motor.
I looked into doing the 500 swap and the cases had to be ground out to even try it to see if it would work. That as the end of that test because it wasn't my machine. If done right the big bore kit will work good. There's a 400 in our group that had one done wrong (long story) and besides a little smoke it's been running good.
