Hi, I am having a problem with my wheeler. It's a '99 450 ES. You have to press the throttle really far to get it to move and then it moves very slowly even in 1st gear. Related to this problem is the fact that when I push the wheeler slowly in neutral the back end goes up and down, up and down, over and over. It is a feeling almost as if the right rear wheel was taller than the left (which is not the case). Could this be a bad rear axle? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Yeah, it could very well be more than one problem, but they seem to have happened at the same time if it is... I don't hear any noises. I guess I am going to adjust the clutch to see if that resolves the throttle problem. And I am going to look further into the bouncing rear end problem. Thanks

is the rear end making a noise, grinding or poping? I dont have a clue, could you give more details, is the diff. full of oil, are the rear brakes dragging, slack in the rear bearings? It doesn't make sense. you say you have to give it more throttle to make it move in gear, but you also say you can push the bike in neutral. sounds like u have more than one problem.
