I installed a Perfex long travel suspension kit on 04 foreman. Big improvement in ride quality. It just changes the shock angle a bit so you get more wheel travel per shock movement. It cost about a hundred bucks and is well worth it- My back thanks me after every ride. Oh, and it gives it a little lift too- about 1.5 inches in the back.
450 foreman need more shock travel
Can anyone here recommend a suspension Mod that will give me more shock travel for my 2004 450ES. I love the bike ( although a little more power would be nice) but I do alot of long rides of 70 miles plus, and the stock suspension beats me up. Looking for alternatives to keep me from selling and getting something different. Also, is a pipe and jet kit worth the investment. Is there a big difference in performance or minimal. Thanks.

the kit you need is the Perfex Long-Travel Suspension Kit.
This kit enables you to relocate your shock mounting points inward which increases wheel travel and makes our "not-so-soft" foremans into a much nicer ride.
This kit also enables you to choose 2 different settings for the front and rear suspension. ((2 mounting hole choices for the shocks)) We have drilled 2 extra holes in our rear brackets for even more "infinite" suspension setting to your liking.
This kit also raises your ride around 1.5 inches in the rear and around 1 inch in the front.

With either of these kits you probably want to stick with stock length shocks to keep your CV joints from over-extending.
With the Perfex kit alone the angles aren't too steep to prematurely wear them out.
Longer shocks will increase the angles on the CV joints when they are fully extended. Unless your stockers are shot I would recommend staying with them.

The perfex kit makes a world of difference on a foreman, get it you will not be dissappointed, and aftermarket shocks will cost you a small fortune, but if you got the cash the sky is the limit, if your on a budget..........like most of us are.........get the perfex long travel kit
Front Perfex mount
I know the rear mount has several shock mount positions to choose from but the front only has one that i know about. If i'm wrong would someone show me where the second mount hole is? Thanks.

00-04 and the newer models of the Rubicon have 2 shock mount holes on the front and rear brackets. Also, 98-01 Foreman's also have 2 mount holes on each bracket.

I have an '04 and my kit only has the single position holes in the front while it has two in the rear. I found my personal preference in the rear to be on the lowest setting. While it does seem to ride a little softer on the highest setting, it seemed to throw me forward because it was "jacked up" more in the rear.00-04 and the newer models of the Rubicon have 2 shock mount holes on the front and rear brackets. I am VERY pleased with it. I think it is the best $100 you can spend on a Foreman. Then when you combine it with some Maxxis Big Horn Radials, you got a nice combo.
I PURCHASED THE PROGRESSIVE SHOCKS FOR THE FRONT AND REAR OF MY FOREMAN.THEY ARE ADJUSTABLE AND ONLY SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN THE STOCK SHOCKS.I HAVE THEM SET ON THE SOFTEST SETTING AND RUN 27 INCH MUDLIGHTS.RIDE QUALITY IS MUCH IMPROVED OVER STOCK.
Has anybody run the progressive shocks with the perfex?

THE SHOCKS I PURCHASED ARE FROM A COMPANY CALLED "ROYAL DISTRIBUTING". THEY ARE IN ONTARIO CANADA.THEY HAVE AN ONLINE CATALOGUE.IM SORRY I DONT HAVE THE E-MAIL ADDRESS-JUST GOOGLE THEM.I CANT REMEMBER WHAT I PAID-I HAVE HAD THEM FOR A LONG TIME.(MONEY ISNT AN ISSUE WHEN IT COMES TO A GUYS TOYS).

Works shocks A-T steelers (DRS) Dual rate spring shocks. N2 charged and fully adjustable. Supposed to be as good as it gets for the Foreman. And, at $375.00 a pair for front and rear, they should be. Goin to check prices on the net to see how low I can get them.

You got to ask yourself, How much is 2 extra inches of suspension travel worth?
hey guys can the perfex long travel be used with a hl lift kit? I'm looking for a smoother ride also.
