So this week a buddy and I tore apart his 2018 rancher 420 to add a gear reduction, do the top end, and split the cases to clean the mud out. Well, we took the wrong side of the case off and the gears for the transmission had to be put back in the other side, we used a service manual for the bike to make sure all gears were put in the proper order.

After getting the motor put back in while the bike is in "neutral" it goes forward, barely touching the shifter down it goes straight into "reverse" (without using the reverse lever) and also goes forward. it doesn't want to shift up into "first" but when it does its in actual neutral. We cant get it to go any higher than "first". We're at a loss we made sure that the gear position sensor in the back half of the case was lined up with the shift drum when we installed it.

We have taken the motor out twice double checking all the linkage in the rear portion of the case and it seems perfect. We're about to split everything down to the main case again to go back over everything to make sure we didn't miss anything. Does anyone have any advice on what it might be? Any help is appreciated!
