2020 Honda Rubicon 520 DCT transmission defect

Has anyone successfully had Honda pay for the repair of the defective transmission? My Atv is now out of warranty. The dealer said the shift fork in the transmission needs to be replaced because it's defective . My Honda would not shift and the gear indicator would flash.

There is a recall on these, should be a N/C repair.
We had both of ours done, but we only had a couple hundred miles on them when this came out.

Was there mechanical damage?or did you only do a pcm update?

Everything else was fine on ours, just the hard shifting when using the Auto DCT. We only had a couple hundred miles on them at the time, so after they did some testing, there was no damage done.
Taking my 2021 FA7 in tomorrow for this. Had the double dash on the gear indicator a few times especially when plowing the driveway. It always reset by turning the key off and restarting it. Thx for posting the bulletin.

Took less than 1 hour. Since my Rube has less than 400 miles on it we decided not to check the components for wear. I also was not keen in removing the engine and opening everything up. It never made any kind of noise. I purchased the extended warranty through 2025 anyway so I'm covered.
So my 21 520 (400 miles or so) I noticed isn't exactly the smoothest shifting in auto DCT. I've never had any grinding noises or slipping out of gear or dash indicator lights, but I'm wondering if my dealer will perform this update anyway just as a precaution?

I don't see why not, a recall is a recall, regardless, they will get paid for it from Honda

My dealer said it was free.

So dealer called me back yesterday and apparently the VIN #'s it was for ended well ahead of my VIN #, so in other words mine wasn't applicable.

Well, the Service Bulletin says - ALL VINS ?

Good point. When the guy called me yesterday he said something like it only pertained to a certain range of VIN's and it ended way before mine. I wonder if he was just blowing smoke..
