Were some of these shipped without a hex shaft to shift in case of electric shift failure? Just picked up a 2013 es foreman that is super clean with 1500 miles and there is no gearshift spindle. Is there a plug in there that can be removed and I can put one in? Sorry I don't have pictures. I have read everything on here that I can in hopes of finding out but have not heard of this yet.

I believe that on your model there is a manual shift backup on the front of the engine cases, not on the side by your foot like the earlier ones.
Does yours have the shift tool in the original tool kit?

I double checked and didn't find a shifter on the front. There is just the hole on the left side where the shaft would go. It's cold and I don't want to shatter the plastic taking it off yet until it warms up to look further.

After further inspection there is the shaft on the front of the engine. I didn't know what I was looking for at first. Does this mean it can't be converted?
