So if that's bad will it keep it from changing gears.feels like its stuck between gears, every time you take it out of safe mode it goes right back in.

Replaced that, will the tip over switch cause that, or should I try a shift solenoid next.

Yep, be sure the shift angle sensor is preloaded. You place the angle sensor on the shaft where the two bolt holes are at about 9 and 3 o'clock, then turn the sensor until the bolt holes line up. This pre-loads the spring inside. Then you need to reset the ECU.

  1. Start Engine and let idle for 30 seconds with bike in neutral.
  2. Move shifter to D (while in D1) and check indicator indicated D
  3. Ride forward approx. 5ft. (slowly)
  4. Move shifter back to N and make sure indicator is back on N.
  5. Turn Key OFF.
  6. Turn Key On While holding UP and DOWN on the ESP Shift switch.
  7. Release UP and DOWN after about 1 second
  8. And immediately push the ESP keys in this Order. UP, DOWN, UP
  9. The Drive Mode indicator (L D N R) will show a constant -- (if it shows N turn key off and repeat step)
  10. Move Throttle Lever Fully open then closed then Open again.
  11. Release the throttle (within 10 seconds of -- showing on the indicator)
  12. You should hear the control motor make noise.
  13. The Indicator should change from -- to N
