2006 Foreman Winch Question

umm u can splice in to the hot wire on the 12v outlet plug...

Use the hot wire for the Accessory plug..............don't cut into your ignition wires. The plug has its own ~1' harness; you can remove it from both the plug and the machine, take it to the bench and make your splice. Waterproof best you can and put back on machine

ok im the idiot who spliced into his pink ignition wire and now my wireless remote and handle bar switch will not work to gether only way it will work is if i change the pugs for the winch i.e. green and balck assorted wires i noticed i rubbed a ground wire raw and have since replaced that ground wire but it still wont work together like it did when i first hooked it up i tried to hood to the acc cig lighter out put but winch would not work what have i done wrong anyone help me please thnax

I spliced into the pink wire from the ignition switch, I used one of those blue clamp style connectors. So I did not have to cut the wire.

Just pull the connector out into the wheel well. Find the hot wire at the connector. Then on the access plug side use one of the blue crip connectsand splice in. Make sure to clean the wires first the once the splice is made use either silicone caulk and gob it on or use a very large heat shrink it. This way all that needs to be fixed if the wiring fails is the accessory plug pig tail. This works well for any exterior wiring.

Have you thought about just going directly to the battery? No splices, no fuss!!! Downside,......yep, your winch is operable when your ignition is off.

I made my splice at the 12v outlet. Wasn't hard at all. I didn't run mine to the battery because my daughter likes to get on daddy's foreman when he's not around and push all the buttons! Oh I can here it now, my wife calling me up "guess what your daughter did today". eh I guess if your comfortable doing that it shouldn't be a problem..........

You’re absolutely right about the kid’s thing, however at the moment this is not something I have to worry about. There are several other "what if's" that I had to consider,...like security of the bike and so forth. At the time of installation I did not want to do anything permanent to my foreman. But eventually it will be tied in at some point. I should have clarified myself and should have said that connecting to the battery was the easy way of doing things. No harm to the bike and was even confirmed by Warn "Unofficially"
