I have a 2005 Honda foreman 450 4x4 ES and have been waiting for the front metal bumper but ran awesome. I used it to try and jump start another four wheeler and now it won’t start. It won’t even try to start and just makes a click sound once. Did I fry the starter solenoid by the battery or would it be something else? Please help.

due you have a voltage meter? How many volts is the battery showing and then when you push the start button what does it due? Should drop a little. You may have drained the battery jump starting the other ATV and now you don't have enough to turn the starter over. Was the foreman running when trying to start the other ATV?

The foreman was running when I tried to jump start it. I might have a volt meter, I’ll have to check. The four wheeler is at my in laws farm so I’m not around all my tools. It doesn’t crank when I try to start just makes 1 pop sound and that’s it.

the Pop sound would be the solenid clicking and send power to the starter and the starter is just not turning at all.

You can take a hammer and tap the starter lightly and also I'd give the pull start a pull or 2 just to make sure the engine is still turning over.

The starters some times get stuck and a little tap will free them up not a huge smack. though if your starter starts working you may be having to replace sooner rather than later. I had a 03 Foreman that I did the tap starter and it worked for another 3 months and then same thing tap work for a month tap 2 weeks and then I replaced it. The brush's wear down on the starts and need replaced.

need to put your volt meter on your battery make sure you have 12V and then it drops when you hit the button.

Then trace wire to each side of the solonied and verify your getting 12V on each side of that. finally to the starter itself and make sure you getting 12V to the starter when you push the button.

Im far from a expert on this stuff but that would be what I would due.

taking the starter out of the 450 foreman is not to bad. Way better than a 350 rancher.

#7 is the starter solenid in the above.

You push the start button then the solenid Clicks and make the 12V connection from the battery to the starter motor and starter motor turns over the engine to start you let off the button the starter solenid disconnects the 12V to the starter motor and start motor stops turning over.

need to make sure your getting the 12V to the starter via the solenid first before pulling the starter out.
Ilke I said light tap with hammer and try again also maybe pull the engine over by hand as well.
