2003 trx500fa 4x4 gear stuck

I’m new here. Have 03 trx500fa 4x4 and it’s stuck in 3rd gear. When it happened it would rev as in 3rd but let go of throttle as to downshift it jumps and seeems as it is in 1st gear feeling making feel as if you downshifted straight to first gear bypassing second gear and bogs down real hard.
I’ve already checked angle sensor and checks 1852 on ohm meter. My next step was is check the gear shift sensor. Is this the correct route togo? Can angle sensor be going bad only putting out 1852 ohms. It’s range is 1600-2400 ohms. 2000 ohms Is would be the 1/2 way range the way I loook at it. Would greatly appreciate some help and insight to this. I have the service manual but doesn’t say exactly where things are and location. Please help. Ty very much in advance. Dennis

There is a chance that the shift motor isn't working properly. It's on the left side front of the engine and looks similar to the electric starter. Try removing it and see if the gear itself turns smoothly. On mine it got stuck and took a bit of force with pliers to get it turning again. It worked ok again but apparently is on its way out. When this happened there wasn't any codes shown on the gauge.

take the shift motor apart and make sure the magnets are not broken or moving
