Problem started last year battery was old and had to pull start but on a long ride ran out of gas and used the reserve gas. Replaced battery and sparkplug has fresh gas and it will run for less than a minute and dies and won't start again for a couple of days I did put seafoam in the tank thinking maybe gummed up carb any advice will be gratefully helpful

Strip the fuel tap, make sure the filters are clean.

For ease of access remove the seat, plastic side covers & tank cover, turn off fuel tap, unbolt & remove fuel tank.
syphon out any fuel remaining in the tank, the tap is held on by 2 bolts, undo, pull out the tap & you will see 2 filters sticking up blow them out with compressed air.
the tap itself will either have two screws on the front or one nut on the back, open it up to make sure there's no crud inside restricting the fuel flow, once clean reassemble with new seal.

While the tap is off I'd give the tank a good swill out to remove any internal debris and also drain the carb bowl in case there was water in the bottom of the tank when you used reserve.

Very detailed. Thanks a lot.
