2002 foreman 450ES exhaust red hot

My friend has a 2002 Foreman 450 and the exhaust pipe gets red hot just at the bend coming out of the cylinder head.We were riding after dark and stopped to talk,his bike was idling,that's when I noticed it.It runs excellent-no other symptoms.

Thats pretty normal to see if your riding at night. As long as the jetting is ok. Lean conditions can produce accessive heat as well.
