I have rebuilt my 2001 Rubicon with a new oil pump, Hondamatic and angle sensor. I started it up and it now drives forward only. It does it in Neutral. It will kill the motor every time I put it in Drive. I do not know what I am doing wrong Please help me to find out why I have no neutral or Reverse. And why my display screen blinks dashes and D1 over D2 over ESP?

That sure is odd! I would start by double checking that the angle sensor is installed/preloaded correctly and also look into the gear position switch system. Something must have been assembled wrong.

You have more then one problem. You have a mechanical and electrical problem. Sounds like the shifter is not indexed correctly. What was wrong with it before you started? My email is [email protected] if you want to make contact and have me call you

I have preloaded the angle sensor as the repair manual has said to do and I have decided to tear the transmission gear assembly back apart to see if I did not put the gear sleeve into neutral by accident. But cannot until the shop is done being built. It will not be started until late June or July. I will post what I find then. Thanks for the suggestions.
