Hi. Just joined your site ---- I am into vintage Hondas , I have a couple of Foreman 450's , a 2002 TRX450FM and a 2000 TRX450FM and a few 300's ---- Hope to learn and share

My latest project is almost complete , been working on it for a while , 2000 450 , it has a J+E 500 piston , Total Seals rings and jug work to match ( which is the same as the Highlifter Big Bore 450 kit , running a TRX400 head for more compression , HMF muffler , carb jet kit , K+N air filter , snorkeled , relocated double stacked cooler with one fan on the coolers and another one on the engine , disc brake conversions back and front , Wide
Open/Warn 4-2-4 kick out , 29.5 OutLaws ,wheel spacers , Warn winch , 2 inch lift , 35% reduction , custom lighting and a few other mods , just about every bearing and seal is new
it is about 90% complete ----- working on the front end at the moment , rebuilding the 4-2-4 , new cv-shafts , disc conversion , installing the reduction and freshening everything up

Here are a few more pics

3 things holding me up

I am putting a kit in the 4-2-4 , the kit doesn't come with boots , ordered OEM drive shaft boots from Honda , there are very similar and go over the same collars on both set ups , not sure if they are going to work out , contacted Wide Open and they won't sell just the boots

working on getting some LED's in place of the original head lights

need to pull the front cover and install the 35% reduction and a new clutch pack

It will never really end , there will always be something else to do

Would be interested in a set of drop a-arms in the 4-6 inch range , anyone know who is building them for a 450

toms99tj , Thanks , for the mudpuppy lead , let me see what I can dig up --- I am not a face book person , it seems I am missing out as there are a lot of deals on atv , parts and custom work that goes thru facebook

I see you got some nice mods on your 450 ----

I have the 14.5% reduction on my 2002 and I like it , but that one only has 27's ---

I see you got a Audio Tube , which sound tube are you using ?

I have a Pyle set put into a Boss Rebel tube on this one , it using MP3 and a cable , it is loud and clear

I started out with a Boss Tube , burned it up while in warranty and it cost me $40 to ship it in and they gave me a new one , it burned up again , so for $90 I got a Pyle amp and speakers and put them in the Boss tube , it last 2 years and 2 months , and I just replaced them again with Pyle ---- I built my own tube from PVC pipe and this is it on my 95 300 ----

If muddypuppy ever contacts me I will let you know , to tell the truth , I am looking for a set of arched arms that both the top and bottom are arched with longer cv-shafts , his looks like just the bottom arm with a 2 inch shock extension on the bottom and a spacer in the spring on top the shock

yesterday I talked with Dick's Cycles and he says he can get them made but it will be expensive , he is going to call me back when he gets the price

those lights are cheap and they light it up well , I have them on my other atv's --- lighting up the sides of the trails sounds interesting, we ride a lot at night

I need to check the dimensions, would like them to fit just like yours.[/QUOTE]

them side shooters are nice and the price is right , I could see that helping out ----you are right it is getting dark early and light later

I messed around with the light bracket mod some yesterday , done some bending for a better fit and adding a 1 1/2 inch fender lift into the bracket mount -----

Wow , your girlfriend rides the 450 !!! My wife has a really nice 300 4x4 with a 4-2-4 kick-out and she still rather ride her old 300 2wd cause she says it is more fun ------ she rides like a maniac , she is a one woman demolition crew , wide open is all she knows , she has never ridden my 450 , and hope she never does as she has flipped , crashed into trees and other bikes more times than I can remember , in all fairness to her , momentum riding is what she learned at , nail it and hold on , I kid you not her nickname is Ms Momentum

Model year /model does she ride ?

..... full time 450 with 28's , I know it has to be hard on her , you need to get her a lick out -----my wife's 300 had 27 Outlaws and they were wide , I had to take them off as she was complaining and was getting thrown around in the ruts and jumping out the ruts and hitting trees , I put some ITP swamp lite 27's narrower tires and it does not bang her around as much , the Outlaws with the big side threads grab the sides of the ruts and throw you up and out , walks right out of there ----

Mine had 27 inch outlaws when i got it from my friend and before i even went down to pick it i had the 30s on it so i never found out how the laws rode. Im hoping this easter we take hers down to boggs and boulders to see how it does in real mud

I got the price on a 4 inch drop arm kit yesterday , it is pricey , PM if you want to know how much and who's building it , going to send 1/2 down today and 1 month to complete it , 1/2 when complete , comes with a-arms , grease-able Helms , ball joints , tie rod ends , shock absorbers and custom built Cobra axles , from what I understand , one of the two axles is an axle that matches up with a axle from another bike , and the other is custom , both axles in this kit will be custom , but if I do break one then one is replaceable without having it custom built

Jeep' , I just got a whiff of Mustard , I think there is a yellow 450 lurking on this board

I still ain't come up with a name for my bike yet , being a fisherman and the color green which I have been told that the 450's came in ketchup/red , mustard /yellow and green/relish , maybe I could be Reel'ish ---- I am thinking about Godzilla

Remember when I was growing up Sunday mornings was Chinese monster and hop and chop movies theater

Should name my Blue 1st gen 300 = Blue Oyster Cult
