Hi. I picked up a nice 450s with a loud ticking up top. Tore it down and noticed the exhaust valve guide was broken. So I ordered a new Honda valve guide and new exhaust valve. The part number matches the exploded views I have seen but it’s a little different from the original from 2000. One, it’s going to need reamed to fit the valve. Even the old valve doesn’t fit. Two, it’s got a different type of shim. The original on the bike had a stepped shim that sits in the spring pocket. The new guide has the smaller dia step for the inner spring but nothing to protect the head for the bigger spring when it sits in the pocket. Am I missing something here?

New valve guides are always oversize and have to be reamed
Will the washer that sits under the the valve spring not come out and go over the new the new valve guide?
