Hi, thanks in advance for anyone's words of wisdom. We bought a 2000 450es that had Been 'converted' to manual shift because of the issues with the es system. We are totally new to this so it sounded logical.
My wife bends down and upshifts with her hand, I use my foot.
Last time I shifted, the shifter stuck in a totally up position (like further up than I think it should) and will not move in any direction at all. The machine moves freely like it is in neutral both forward and backwards. It WONT start AND the display read out says 1st gear.We get no blinking codes.
Got any suggestions?

I would fix the ES shift system...after you fix the manual shift issue. You are going to need to remove the front engine cover(clutch cover) to fix the issue. And then search _ebay for the ES shift harness. It's a cheap fix for the ES shift system Honda Foreman ECU Bypass 450 ES 98-04 angle sensor shift motor ES Shift Kit DRPP | eBay
