Hello all. My LCD display has burnt out and the only thing I can see on it is the very outer edges.

I have looked at a replacement and they seem to be on back order.
2000 450es - 37200-HN0-A12 - METER ASSY., COMBINATION (MPH) - $282.81 Back Order

I have read that a 2001 450es combination meter is a direct replacement but is also on back order.
2001 450es - 37200-HN0-A61 - METER ASSY., COMBINATION (MPH) - $266.08 Back Order

I can get the combination meter for a 450s but I dont know if it would show what gear I'm in or what else wouldn't work.
2000 450s - 37200-HN0-A02 - METER ASSY., COMBINATION (MPH) - $157.36

There were many changes made in 2002 450es but I wonder if one of those would work due to speed being measured at front end.
2002 450es - 37200-HN0-771 - METER ASSY., COMBINATION (MPH) - $229.75

I have considered getting the one for the 2000 450s or the 2002 450es and just swapping the screen onto my meter. I don't think honda would make different screens for every model. As a matter of fact a screen out of a rancher with es might be the same.

Has anyone else attempted anything like this? I can't find a used one and if I did it would likely be in the same condition as mine. I am pretty good with electronics so I may just try to find some not working meters on ebay or junyard and see if the displays will swap onto my meter before spending $$$$$ on a new one just for test purposes.

Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated as I am desperate to have my display back and I love my 19 y/o Honda and definitely do not want to buy a new foreman! :crying:

Happy to report the 2002 combination meter is plug and play other than the 4wd light stays on. There is an extra wire in the harness on the 2002 meter that is not in the plug it has a single bullet plug on it. It has 5V when the switch is on. I wonder if I ground it if the light will go off?

OK I have installed the 2002 meter and it doesn't seem to remember the time after I turn the switch off so a wire that should be 12v batt is 12v switched. Not that big of a deal to me as my display was burnt out so bad I couldn't see anything.

the 2000 speedo sensor is on the rear cover , on the 2002 up the sensor is on the front diff , so I doubt the speedo is going to work ----I took the electric front diff out my 2002 450 and put in a full time diff with a 4x2 , I lost the speedo and the 4wd indicator flashes all the time ----I think there are 4 different displays , 98-2001 and 2002-2004 and then ES and FM version of each of those year spans

Hi, did the 37200-HN0-771 work? I have a 99 450ES. The speedometer was trashed. I had a 37200-HN0-A61 on back order forever until I was notified they were discontinued. I need to find a replacement. I don't mind if it has some quirks as long as most of it works. Thanks.

I have a 2001 450 foreman es and the combo meter shows a large number of miles and hours and also the gear position indicator has disappeared.
my brother has a 2002 350 rancher and his circuit board and display will plug into my base and harness. Everything showed up on the display and I went thru the gears and all gear positions were displayed, but I didn't ride to see is the speedo worked because I had the front end torn apart.

I have put quite a few miles on my 2000 Foreman with the work-around, and I have not had any problems. Some have posted warnings that this work-around could break the shift motor, or the shift gears, but it really is very similar in action to the way the ES system works as designed by Honda, which does occasionally break parts anyway.

what was the work around? I have an 01 foreman ES with a bad meter too, and just looking for a meter or solution that works!
