everyone that does real mudding should be warned about the $1500 Crank vent line, Why $1500 you say, cuz thats how much it cost to get mey 06 500 rebuilt w/ only 66 hrs on it cuz a lil mud got in it when my ol lady flipped it on its side in a hole, they had a lil stuff in the airbox right up to the bottom of the airbox which what is at you guessed it the crank ventline is right under the air filter. When snorkeling i seen a vent line mounted high in the airbox on the top of the air filter and thought that was the crank vent line but o no thats for the carb. It took about 2 1/2 months after the roll to start smoking, the valves were tapping abit so i brought it in the local dealer to have them adjusted hoping that would be the cause of the smoke but of course not with my luck i got a call back that it would need a topend rebuild and possibly new crankbearings which of course it need cuz of alil sand/mud. the oil never changed colors cuz it wasnt pure water that it sucked. so im going pick it up tommoro and leaving them with $1500 of my money cuz of course its out of warranty, i bought iti in Feb and didnt buy the extended warranty cuz it probably wouldnt have been covered anyway. ill post some pics of a fix i have made i cut the vent line, extended it, looped it and put it high in the airbox so it would take the entire box to get filled to the brim to get in the crank vent again. i swear i dont have any luck with NEW bikes
