Greetings all! First off, this site has proved valuable in trouble shooting all my previous issues on all my hondas before. My issue at hand is my 07 rubicon appears to be in full retard mode. Rpm is limited in neutral and both forward gears. Appears to have no issues in reverse. Full power available. I have changed the angle sensor and initiated without a change in performance. I changed that sensor due to the corresponding code having flashed, but did not persist and I had reverse being limited for half a day of operation but stopped and had no issues for about 8 hours of operation prior to this full limp mode in forward. I have checked for codes and gives me nothing. This unit has 7900km with lots of snowplowing and winter hauling. This unit was in shop at approx 6800km and I was assured that everything checked out with little wear considering the usage at the time. The only other defect with this unit is the fuel gauge has stopped working just prior to the limp modes. I figured that was the internal tank sensor and it didn't affect immediate operation so is on the " to be repaired list". At this point, I m leaning towards it being the ECM. But I have no way of testing the sensors or harnesses for defects. My local dealer got $170 out of me for the angle sensor, so i dont want to know how much they want for an ECM. It was thousands the last time it was in the dealers. So very apprehensive of bringing it back there for what I hope to be a very simple fix.

So, in summary. Neutral and forward gears are limited with no issues in reverse. New angle sensor installed and initiated with no error codes recorded. Disconnected the battery during the swap as well. No recovered error codes. Thanks for your

Try disconnecting every connector you can and put a very light amount of dielectric grease on the female portion of the plugs. I did this to my 2003 Rubicon after 2 trips to the dealer and a new angle sensor by them which did not fix my problem. After doing this I was able to isolate the trouble codes to #10. I went to a new dealer and they correctly identified the ECM as the culprit. They replaced the ECM with new. About $500 installed. I also had them adjust the valves. Machine runs better than new now. This was back in September and all is well after a couple of hundred miles. Mine was also used for plowing until the 2021 showed up. I assume your gearshift indicator is not flashing and you able to use it in auto as well as ESP? Good luck.
