I have a 07 rincon and it ran perfect and it sat for about 8 months while I was out of town working now fuel pump won’t kick on so I bought a new one for it and when you turn the key on it will start to pump for a split second and then shut off. Everytime you cycle the key it will come on just enough to vibrate the pump and then it loses power. I pulled it off and tested the pump it works fine anybody point me in the right direction? I’ve looked at the wires I don’t see any breaks or anything that would be shorting it. Possibly relay? Would a bad relay send power and then immediately cut it?

Did you install a new filter? They’ve been known to have the fuel pump overload and cut out when there’s an obstruction or clogged filter. If yours has the round filter in the bottom of the canister, there is an upgrade kit with a rectangular filter that sits vertically, and a new lower housing for the pump with a relocated mount for the filter.

There is an engine stop/fuel pump relay, but I think the pump is only supposed to run for a few seconds when the key is first turned on and the engine kill turned to run.

Could be anything from the injector, the kill switch, bank sensor, wiring harness, relay, or ECM.

Is the F/I malfunction light on?

Yes the fi light is throwing code 12. I put a test light on the pump and as soon as you hit the key it lights up and immediately shuts off. Fuel line is disconnected from the injector so it should pump fuel. There’s a relay behind the battery box under the fender I don’t know if there’s a way to test them but I ordered a new one but still waiting for it to come in. I don’t see any bare wires or breaks any where anything else you can think of?
