I'm a retired Allison transmission Tech 40+ yrs. Have an 05 recon that I recently did the top end and timing and oil pump chains. Inspected both clutch ass'ys. no signs of excessive wear, reassembled and used Honda 10/40 oil. 10 hrs on it and no clutch engagement. Called a few people and got no answers. Pulled the engine, ordered new change clutch plates, and a new centrifugal clutch flyweight ass'y. and installed, also checked the sprag for damage and proper direction of frewheel rotation. started it up and same problem no movement in gear while siting on it. On 4 jack stands it will turn the rear tires and upshift but not with any load on it. Any help, because I see no logical solution at this time, Thanks, Bill - I have used the Honda Service manual for all adjustments and specs.

Was the clutch plates tight in the basket? I've seen it more than once that the back plate will jamb leaving the disc loose in the basket.
