My foreman 450ES will not shift past first gear. I have tried to shift it manually but with no luck. It runs fine in first and reverse and has no trouble shifting to these gears. I would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks.

You will have to remove the clutch cover and check the shift drum assy , there are pins that the shift arm uses to turn the shift drum up and down thru the gears .. I would first check this out ..

I have a 01 foreman 450s same exact thing happened today to mine. Would love to hear what you’re final resolution was on this before I tear into mine. Any minor advice during repair to make sure not to over look would be greatly appreciated

Sorry new to the forum wasn’t sure how that worked but thanks for the heads up. Maybe someone with some intel will notice it like you did and share some advice. Thanks again merry Christmas
So the verdict is in bolt that holds down shift plate was loose like finger loose. Easy fix. Hope this helps someone
That reminds me mine did that once, forgot about it. Is this the same part that loosened up on you?

My issue was internal. Shift plate sits on top on the gear drum under clutch cover. Wish it was external but that would have been to easy
