I have a 02 foreman and it will not shift with the es buttons. The battery is good and I’ve checked all the connections for the es. I can hook the shift motor directly to the battery and it will work but nothing when I try and shift it with the buttons. The display is flashing the bad shift motor code. I tried a different shift motor from a 01 foreman I have for parts but it does the same thing. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations I haven’t tried? Just wanna try everything before I buy a new shift motor. Thanks

Finally figured out that I had a problem in the the shift part of the computer. I bought a bypass wire harness that bypasses the cpu and the angle sensor and reroutes the shifting through to relays. Installed it and now it’s shifting like it should. Only thing different is the gear indicator flashes. This worked so far for mine hope it can help someone else.
