01 Rubi cam timing after piston and ring install?

I am doing a top end rebuild on an 01 rubicon. I found TDC and installed the camshaft with the “line” marking on the gear in the down position. The motor won’t start sounds like it’s in the wrong spot. Also I had the head bored and install a 93.00mm piston and ring.

So you have the T mark lined up with the index mark on the rear cover to locate TDC? As long as it is, then the cam timing mark should be down & even with the top of the cylinder.
If so, then the cam timing is correct and you should verify the valve clearances.

The mark is on the gear (ie. sprocket). A short line that is horizontal when at TDC.
