Well this is an ATV (4wheeler) page, but I would say no CBR would be good for a beginner. End up as a stain on the pavement.

welcome to the site, and even a 250 has get up and go, so be safe, go easy, pay attention, EXTRA attention to everyone around you, folks tend to NOT see people on motorcycles!
and wear proper safety gear when riding, good boots, gloves, helmet and eye wear, be very surprised how valuable they can be when driving on road or off!
sport bikes do NOT IMO tend to be great first bikes, but it can be done if your mindful of things
I have owned many of them in the 750-1000 cc range, respect and self control is a BIG part of owning them!
