Looking at a 01 Rubicon need advice on buying.

Hello everyone...I have looked at the forums for an hour now and find everything very informative here. So I thought about asking some questions being that it seems so many knowledgable people are here.

I am a previous owner of a Honda Fourtraxx many years ago. I simply loved the machine. I am looking at a 01 Honda Foreman Rubicon. It is in a town about forty miles away at a dealer. The pics of it look great. Everything seems to be intact and plastics look good as well as tires. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the miles on it and hours on it. According to the pic they took of the screen it says something like 10,000 some miles and 1,300 hours on it.

My question is that a lot of miles or am I over reacting. I have never bought a atv that had miles or hours on it. Again the machine looks to be in great shape. Looks as if someone took care of it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks all,

Gabe in Iowa

i have an 07 foreman, i bought it brand new, and it has 150 hours on it, and about 1400 miles on it. How much is this dealership asking for this atv.

if i were buying it i would try to get it cheaper, cuz i just saw a guy on ebay selling an 02 rubicon in prestine condition with only 249 miles on it, and he said he would take 4000 for it.

If properly maintained,10,000 miles isn't a lot. That one does look to have been well cared for.I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage, but the price seems a little high.

well its climbing up on 9 years old. i bought a 08 foreman 500s in january for 5299 course, bear in mind rubi's are more expensive but all things considered? i would only sink 2200 in the quad....oh and thats after i test rode it and checked all joints and looked for leaks. even a well maintained exterior can sometimes hide mechanical problems. you would be suprised what a can of tire foam can do for 8 year old plastic so cover all your bases and good luck!

08 foreman 500s (white) kimpex bumpers, gorilla hitch, warn winch, quadrax rear seat, fender protectors. coming soon: wheels, skins, springs.

I picked up an 05 Rubicon this spring in Ohio with 312 miles on it for $4,450 with a winch in prestine condition.
